Clients participate
in self-help fellowship and learn how to build a sober support system
to assist them in their recovery once they leave the program.
Through family
therapy, weekend passes and Sunday visits, the men reunite with
their families. Their parents, wives, significant others and children
learn about the disease of addiction, ways to support recovery in
their loved ones and the importance of caring for themselves.
Men at Liberation
House work on completing educational goals, resolving legal issues
and giving back to the community through volunteer work. They graduate
with plans for continued treatment, employment and housing.
Liberation House
admits clients on methadone maintenance. Clients with life threatening
illnesses are also considered as long as they are able to participate
fully in the program.

Liberation
House Philosophy
We
have chosen to change our lives, learning to live. In these our
beliefs is the foundation from which comes our strength. Stirpping
away the facade of destruction, we reveal feelings of anger and
fear existing with feelings of warmth, understanding and love, that
make us complete.
Until
we respect ourselves, we have nothing real to give. We could not
open ourselves to others; fearful they will find nothing inside.
So
here with these beliefs do we begin. We are men, worthy of respect.
We have taken an oath of silence, each to ourselves, yet as one,
to struggle against our past, to fight for a new future.
Honest
tears come from the eyes of men as well as women, from eyes that
are old as well as new.
We
have become a family where there is warmth, words of encouragement,
strong minds and soft hearts of understanding.
We
have been offered a new road to bring our inner selves out, to give
and help each other as others have helped us.
Walk
beside us!
